Good news from Finland - Improvements in Forestry company ratings

This week, Finnish daily Kauppalehti reported that Moody's and Standars & Poor's have given higher ratings to UPM, Metsa Board and Stora Enso. They refer to improved results, successful restructuring and better abilities to service debt.

Moody's rates UPM with Ba1, while Metsa Board and Stora Enso receive a Ba2. Standard and Poor's ratings for UPM and Metsa Board are BB+, and BB for Stora Enso.

Metsa Board has managed to improve their ratings around five times in a row, starting from a very low level just a few years ago. Moody's forecast for Stora Enso is positive: They see the company as less dependent on the hindered paper market, and that their investments will soon begin bearing fruit.
